Nightmare Coast Guide

There are 4 bosses in the Nightmare Coast instance and a Secret Chest:
Hydal Ithral

Essential abilities: Cleanse, Purge

Strategy:
This boss has a pretty heavy auto-attack (up to 20k), so single target healing is important.

Mechanics:
Mark of Atrophy: This is an 8 second AoE debuff placed on a random player. That player should move to the edge of the encounter area. When the debuff drops off, it leaves a red AoE area with a spike in the center. Do not let the red AoE area touch another's spike.
Nightmare Orbs: These orbs spawn behind random players. There is a beam that connects the orb to the boss. Avoid the beams. You can kill the orbs if your group has trouble avoiding the beams.
Nightshade: This is a purple DoT that is placed on all players. It does approx. 3-4k damage per tick. This needs to be cleansed.
Devour Fear: Hydal will emote "Embrace the nightmare!" and will put a shield up. While the shield is up, Hydal deals 100% more damage and moves 40% slower. Either DPS the shield or Purge it. While the shield is up, the tank should kite Hydal.
Touch of the Dream Eater: 1k damage every 3 seconds to the tank.

Tanks:
* Purge the boss's shield if possible (or kite boss while shield is active)
* Be aware of your position if you get Mark of Atrophy

Healers:
* Single target healing spec for this fight (tank takes big hits).
* Cleanse Nightshade
* Purge the boss's shield if possible

DPS:
* DPS boss's shield if no Purge
* Be sure you don't overlap Mark of Atrophy
* DPS beams if group has trouble avoiding them

Expert

Most common strategy seems to be to kite the boss constantly around the room with the party in the middle of the room.
At the start of the fight, casts
Mark of Atrophy on the entire party. I've seen groups spread the marks and stack them (decide before pull how you want to handle this). The rest of the marks are dropped around the outside of the room.

Shade of Akylios

Essential abilities: None

Strategy:

Mechanics:
Waves of Madness: Red rectanges highlight where the waves will be and which direction they will travel. Avoid the waves. Waves hit for approx. 5k damage.
Deepsea Debris: A large red AoE will spawn on a random player. After a few seconds, a large Ice Pillar with blue AoE around it will spawn. Move out of this, or take 7k damage and get knocked back.
Crushing Tide: Shade of Akylios will emote "Akylios prepares to unleash the power of the sea. Hide!". You have a few seconds to hide behind and Ice Pillar in the blue AoE, or else you will take 60-80k damage.
Blighted Lesion: This is cast on a random player and spawns 3 stationary tentacle adds. The adds do 3-5k damage each and add a 6 second stacking debuff that drains 1500 mana every 2 seconds. Just avoid them.
Decend into Madness: A stacking debuff placed on the tank, who will get a large arrow over their head. Green orbs will spawn and the affected player much will need to collect in order to get rid of the stacks of the debuff. Failure to remove the debuff before it wears off will result in the player being mind controlled.
*Note: Green Orbs can be buggy! Also, Crushing Tide hits before the visual reaches you. Hide quickly!

Tanks:
* Run over the green orbs to get rid of Decend into Madness

Healers:
* Stay away from the tentacle spawns

DPS:
* Stay away from tentacle spawns
* Spread out to allow multiple Ice Pillar placement

Dalraak the Shadowlord

Essential abilities: Interrupts, Cleanse

Strategy:

Mechanics:
Blade of Tyranny: Cast every 10 seconds or so on the tank, deals 8k damage
Shadow Stitch/Mass Shadow Stitch: A DoT cast on a random player, deals 6k damage per tick and roots the player. The Mass version is more powerful and hits more players. DoT is cleanseable. Cast is interruptable.
The Demon Within: Dalraak emotes "Join me in the nightmare!" and puts a red beam on each player. Each player gets a purple AoE around them that will begin to pulse after a couple seconds. Spread out and don't overlap another player with your circle (or they will take 9-10k damage).
Shadoweave/Mass Shadoweave: Dalraak emotes "You are powerless against this!" and rises into the air, channeling a red beam for 9 seconds on up to 10 adds. While channeling, the adds do greatly increased damage. If the channel completes, Gathering Darkness adds transform into Shadowfeinds, which are more powerful than Gathering Darkness adds.
Portal: Throughout the fight, portals will spawn from which 2 Gathering Darkness adds spawn every 10 seconds. DPS the portals down, and the adds will despawn.
Warped Reality: This is an interruptable cast, and MUST be interrupted. Failure to interrupt the cast will split 20 stacks of Warped Reality on random players, increasing damage received by 5% per stack.

Spread out for this boss, ranged dps is better (as in figure below).

Tanks:
* Prioritize interrupt on Warped Reality. Interrupt Shadow Stitch and Shadoweave.
* Save your cooldowns for final 15% in case Warped Reality is not interrupted.

Healers:
* Cleanse Shadow Stitch
* Save your cooldowns for final 15% in case Warped Reality is not interrupted.

DPS:
* Prioritize interrupt on Warped Reality. Interrupt Shadow Stitch and Shadoweave.
* Kill portals as soon as they spawn.

Lord Arak

Essential abilities: Interrupts, Cleanse

Strategy:

You don't fight the Manifestation of Lord Arak, just kill the Manifest Terror adds. Interrupt the Horrific Transformation. If you handle the interrupts correctly, this is a pretty easy fight.

Phase 1: Before the first Manifest Terror dies

Mechanics: Manifest Terror
Shadow Cleave: A cleave that deals 7.5k to tank, 12k to non-tanks
Numbing Cold: Interruptable debuff on all players. Cleansable, save interrupts for Horrific Transformation.
Nightmare Fracture: He will emote "Manifest Terror creates a fracture in reality!". A portal opens and spawns adds one at a time until the portal is closed.
Horrific Transformation: A blue glow will surround the Manifest Terror. This cast MUST be interrupted, or bad things happen. If the cast completes, the Manifest Terror will transform into a new add, heal back up to 100%, and gain new abilities. There are a few different types of adds.

Phase 2: Manifestation of Lord Arak
Once the first Manifest Terror dies, your camera will focus on Lord Arak. Do not DPS Lord Arak, keep killing Manifest Terrors. Lord Arak will need to be kited by the tank, avoiding his mechanics.

Mechanics: Manifestation of Lord Arak
Smash: This is a large red AoE around Lord Arak. Run out of this or take 50-60k damage and knockback.
Slash: A yellow cone AoE that follows the tank. When it stops, the tank needs to avoid the cleave. Deals 50-70k damage. Point away from the group.
Cirlce of Terror: Melee range AoE, deals 18k to tank, 30k to non-tanks.

If Horrific Transformation is NOT interrupted:

Mechanics: Mage Manifest Terror
Dark Water Bolt: This puts a red pulsing AoE on a random player before a water bolt shoots at them. It deals approximately 35k damage. LoS this using the middle area.
Raging Tide: A yellow rectangular AoE wave that goes out from the Mage Manifest Terror. Deals 10-15k damage and knockback.
Soul Anchor: A small water foothold that puts a blue beam on all players. Deals 4k damage every 3 seconds until the foothold is destroyed.

Mechanics: Turtle Manifest Terror
Shell Shock: Stationary cast, aimed at the tank. When cast is complete, he does a short charge at the tank and generates a small yellow AoE burst dealing 60k to anyone nearby.
Double Dragon Turtle: 2 quick attacks to the tank, first one hits for 30-40k, and the second hits for 7.5k.
Toxic Spit: 30k ranged attack on the tank. Interruptable.

Mechanics: Sobek Manifest Terror
Poisoned Spear: Hits the tank for 12k, and puts a DoT on that deals 1.2k every 2 seconds for 10 seconds.
* There are other abilities for the Sobek, but I have not seen them and do not have info on them. Will update when I do.

Tanks:
* Interrupt Horrific Transformation
* Kite the Manifestation of Lord Arak
* Pick up all adds while kiting
* Make sure Slash is aimed away from the group

Healers:
* Cleanse Numbing Cold

DPS:
* Interrupt Horrific Transformation (VERY IMPORTANT)
* DPS Manifest Terrors as quickly as possible
* DPS Nightmare Fractures when they spawn
* Use a ranged spec if possible

Secret Chest Guide

Go into the cave before the first boss and click the chest at the end. It spawns 5 levers at the bottom of the room. The lever at the end of the room deactivates the puzzle, the 4 levers spawn jump pads.
To do this puzzle, have 4 members stand by each of the levers. Looking at the end of the room, the click order should be.

Wall
3, 4
1, 2

Have the 5th member be your runner. as the first wave comes down, have number 1 click the lever. From that moment have each member count to 4 and then click one after another so:

1 click
count to 4
2 click
count to 4
3 click
count to 4
4 click

The runner will click the lever at the top of the ramps to finish the puzzle. Congratulations on the loot.

Alternatively, if you have a bard, and a runner with a speed boost, have the bard cast their run speed, and the runner run straight up after the waves despawn, jumping the corner at the top.

Thanks to Oddr for this guide!
